কবিতার প্রথম লাইন এটি। তবে রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের ‘শেষের কবিতা' উপন্যাসে তিনি অমিতের ভাষায় বলেছেন “দোহাই তোদের, একটুকু চুপ কর। ভালোবাসিবারে দে আমারে দে অবসর"। মূলত তিনি John Donne এর কবিতা থেকে “For God's sake, hold your tongue and let me love” এই উক্তিটি দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হয়েই 'শেষের কবিতা' উপন্যাসে উপরিউল্লিখিত উক্তিটি করেছেন।
